The AMIES Liquid Transport Tube (2ml) with Fine Tip Swab provides you with a high-quality solution for the safe collection, transport and storage of clinical samples. This kit is suitable for a wide range of microbiological applications and is designed to optimally preserve even sensitive bacterial strains, including aerobic, anaerobic and fastidious strains. The kit complies with relevant European legislation: The transport tube is manufactured in accordance with IVD Directive 97/79/EC. The swab is manufactured in accordance with MDD 93/42/EEC, classified as Class IIa, sterile, including the amendments introduced by Directive 2007/47/EC. Thanks to these certifications, the kit is suitable for use in clinics, laboratories, doctors surgeries and diagnostic facilities. The tube is made of polypropylene and fitted with a polyethylene cap featuring innovative Capture Cap technology, which securely holds the transport medium. The swab (with integrated break point) is designed for optimal collection and efficient elution of clinical material. Thanks to the soft, large absorbent tip, sampling is comfortable for patients. The Amies medium maintains high viability of key pathogens, including: Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Bacteroides fragilis.
