With the AMIES Liquid Transport Tube (1 ml) with Pediatric Tip Swab, you have a high-quality solution for the safe collection, transport, and storage of clinical specimens. This set is suitable for a wide range of microbiological applications and is designed to optimally preserve even sensitive bacterial strains, whether aerobic, anaerobic, or fastidious. The set complies with the relevant European regulations: The transport tube is manufactured in accordance with IVD Directive 97/79/EC. The swab is produced according to MDD 93/42/EEC, classified as Class IIa, sterile, including amendments from Directive 2007/47/EC. Thanks to these certifications, the set is suitable for use in clinics, laboratories, medical practices, and diagnostic facilities. The tube is made of polypropylene and fitted with a polyethylene cap featuring the innovative Capture Cap technology, which securely retains the transport medium. The swab (with integrated breakpoint) is designed for optimal sample uptake and efficient elution of clinical material. The soft, high-absorption tip ensures a comfortable sampling experience for patients. The Amies medium maintains high viability of important pathogens, including Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Bacteroides fragilis.
